New York New York 2011 - Part 3

// Andi Grant - Creative Director

As our visit to New York draws to a close, here is some final photos of the creative windows and visual merchandising displays from the Big Apple 2011. We will be compiling our thoughts and images into a dedicated presentation, check back on the Trends page where you will be able to download it!

Macy's always create something 'magical' and this year was no exception, in conjunction with the Make A Wish foundation, the windows included numerous moving parts, animated puppets and even an interactive touch screen where you could design your own ornament, view it in the window and then order it!

Heading down SOHO our eyes fell on the Evolution Store, a narrow compendium full of Taxidermy, fossils, human sculls and anatomical models.

The Swarovski Crystallized store in Soho is notable for 2 reasons, firstly it combines a luxury jewellery outlet with a contemporary lounger bar, used for exhibitions, events and socialising. Secondly this is the only store where you can design your own Swarovski Jewellery, with a vast expanse of drawers from which varying dimaonds, and glittery accessories can be chosen.

Wandering though the NOHO area we came across what appeared to be an army encampment, but infact turned out to be a pop up store for the Aether Brand created from a tent and a retro trailer! A suitably fitting environment for a brand which offers clothing for the outdoor enthusiast.

Levis windows utilized raw wooden star shapes with random ones rotating. A simple clean and effective window that says Christmas whilst being inline with the brands ethos.
