For the AW season Topman approached us to work along side them redesigning their flagship store's interior creative treatments. From mannequins to column sculptures, every area of the store was updated across the 2 floors. Mannequins - as well as respraying all their mannequins, bespoke treatments such as paint dribbles and colour blocked sections were used on mannequins in key trend areas. To go with the paint treatments, new bases were also created, including a giant plinth with individual light bases and a cage within a cage design. Mannequins that were ready for the skip were instead cut up into sections and hung from the ceiling and set into giant concrete effect blocks to bring a gallery feel to the store. Denim – this dept was transformed by introducing ply and gloss white panels hung from the ceiling with the addition of orange tube lights. Mannequin legs' hang points were also adjusted and neon signage created to finish this area off. A regular column was transformed in to a sculptural, abstract tree growing up three sides and along the ceiling. Tube lights were then added to create extra drama. Ordinary garment rails were adapted so they could be hung from the ceiling and worn/scratched effect aluminium upswings created to brand the area. To match the cage mannequin bases, smaller high level versions were developed incorporating small tube lights and as a finishing, quirky touch we also designed cages to sit over mannequin heads. Timescales on this project were extremely tight - initial brief to installation in 6 weeks.
